Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Health System Specialist to join our team at VON Canada. As a key member of our Engagement and Philanthropy team, you will play a critical role in driving strategic growth and partnerships across the province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Health System Analytics and Advisory Services
    • Conduct environmental health system scanning activities to identify issues, assess risks, and inform strategic growth priorities.
    • Monitor provincial healthcare systems' objectives, emerging trends, and challenges, and provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior leadership teams.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare organizations, and community groups.
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Partner with provincial and regional leadership to develop and implement strategic growth initiatives, including program development, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare organizations, and community groups.
    • Provide strategic growth advisory services to senior management, including the preparation and creation of briefing notes, position papers, and reports.
  • Program Management
    • Manage a portfolio of strategic growth projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality results.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare organizations, and community groups.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary degree in a healthcare profession, social sciences, business administration, health policy, or related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in program planning, health policy, project management, and/or strategic planning.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Strong understanding of healthcare policy and strategic planning.
