Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada 2K Full time

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Art Specialist to join our team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our art team, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between engineering and art teams by utilizing your artistic versatility and technical expertise.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience as a Technical Artist with a proven track record of shipping AAA titles using Unreal Engine. You will collaborate closely with our leads and artists to establish high-performing content workflows and tools that further enhance the quality of life for our artists.

Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring that solutions are optimized following the desired style, technical requirements, and production constraints. This includes crafting and maintaining verbose workflow documentation and training materials for your work.

You will identify and resolve technical art issues in a broad range of areas, including characters, environments, tools/scripting, procedural/automation, shaders, lighting, VFX, renderings, and physics. Effective communication with all teams is crucial to ensure that the technical art remains aligned with project goals.

To excel in this role, you should have a solid understanding of PBR workflows, knowledge of CgFX, HLSL, or CG from a technical artist's perspective, and proficiency in modern industry-standard 3D software such as Substance Designer/Painter, Houdini, and Maya.

A basic understanding of Python or experience writing content tools for Maya is also required. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from CAD $70,400 to CAD $105,600 per year, depending on experience. If hired, the company reserves the right to modify base pay at any time due to individual performance, market factors, or other considerations.

We are an equal opportunity employer committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities to participate in the job application process, perform their job functions, and receive benefits and privileges of employment.
