Burgundy Diamond Mines is a global diamond company that produces and delivers ethically sourced diamonds. Our Ekati Diamond Mine in Canada's Northwest Territories is a key part of our vertically integrated business model, which captures margins along the full value chain of the diamond market.
We have offices in Perth, Australia, Calgary, Canada, and Antwerp, Belgium, and a cutting and polishing facility in Perth. Our company is part of CanadaMarkTM, a program that assures manufacturers, retailers, and customers that our diamonds are sustainably produced and support ethical investment in Canadian Northern Indigenous communities.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Assistant will work in the Mobile Maintenance team at the Ekati mine site, reporting to the Team Lead. The successful candidate will assist the team in a safe, efficient, and productive environment, performing tasks such as shop upkeep, equipment washing, and assisting mechanics.
Key Responsibilities
- Aid with shop upkeep, including cleaning shop floors and emptying receptacles;
- Deliver and pick up parts around the site;
- Wash equipment prior to servicing;
- Move major components to designated locations;
- Assist mechanics with other tasks when required.
Requirements
- Excellent listening and communication skills;
- Ability to lift, carry, and complete physical labor work;
- Able to work in a team environment and foster a culture of trust, respect, and diversity;
- Previous experience in mining or mobile maintenance is an asset.
