Position Overview:

Axis Family Resources Ltd. is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Therapeutic Caregiver to provide a welcoming home environment for children and youth with complex needs. As a contracted home share provider, you will work with our team to identify potential respite providers and enhance supports for the individuals in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support and comfort to children and youth with complex needs, including those with mental health difficulties, addictions, and/or behavioral challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive living environment for the individuals in your care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and support to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Earnings and Benefits:

As a Therapeutic Caregiver, you will earn a competitive monthly stipend, plus respite and per diem payments. You will also have access to our on-call support team and weekly team meetings for ongoing support and training.

Requirements:

  • Must be patient, compassionate, and adaptable.
  • Previous experience working with or caring for individuals with complex needs is an asset.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD, or other neurobiological conditions is beneficial.
  • Successful completion of the SAFE Homestudy (conducted by Axis).
  • Current Level 1 First Aid (will be provided).
  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (will be provided).
  • Cleared Criminal Record Check & MCFD screening.
  • BC Class 5 drivers license, safe driving record, and a reliable vehicle.
  • Home Insurance (Additional Rider Insurance required, extra cost reimbursed by Axis).
