Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in Simcoe County, providing exceptional care to residents in a long term care facility.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an RPN with a minimum of two years' experience in geriatrics or long term care nursing. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and promoting resident safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide personal nursing care to residents, adhering to administrative policies, physician's orders, and established standards.
  2. Assess resident's condition, identifying needs and developing appropriate care plans in conjunction with the Nursing team.
  3. Monitor symptoms, administer medications, and record observations as prescribed.
  4. Ensure safekeeping of drugs and proper care of equipment.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to maintain a physical and psycho-social environment that meets resident needs.
Requirements
  • Current unrestricted registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (less than six months old).
  • TB testing results (as per Public Health requirements).
  • Annual CPR recertification.
Work Environment

This position involves frequent walking, standing, and visual/critical thinking skills. Exposure to illnesses and germs is possible on a daily basis. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Compensation

As per the collective agreement or non-union job band. Estimated salary: $75,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience.*
