Job Summary

Morrison Hershfield, now part of Stantec, is a leading provider of infrastructure solutions. We are seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer/Technologist to join our team in roadway design and transportation planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of road/highway design and transportation planning projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepare engineering designs and drawings using computer-aided design tools, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop construction contract documents and engineering specifications, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform transportation engineering analysis and quantification tasks, providing data-driven insights to inform project decisions.
  • Conduct civil construction project inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Coordinate the delivery of transportation projects with internal and external project teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Eligibility for E.I.T., P.Eng., or C.E.T. designation is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in roadway design and/or transportation planning.
  • Knowledgeable in the application of transportation engineering principles and design standards.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design programs, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge in traffic modeling software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, or EMME/3) would be an asset.
  • Civil construction project experience would be an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality work.
  • Ability to work both individually and as a member of a larger team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
