About the Role:


The Healthcare Social Worker provides diverse interventions to clients and their families enabling them to achieve their optimal level of functioning and health.


The role involves psychosocial assessments, adjustment therapy, supportive therapy, crisis counseling, resource counseling, discharge planning, and case management.


Responsibilities:



  • Provide counseling and communication skills to support individuals and groups
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet client needs
  • Prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Cultivate strong relationships with healthcare professionals and community partners

Requirements:



  • Masters degree in social work from a recognized university
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the NSCSW
  • 2 years of clinical experience as a social worker required
  • Strong counseling and communication skills
  • Knowledge of issues related to family violence, sexual abuse, addictions, grief and loss, end of life, disability, crisis intervention, caregiving, and continuum of care
  • Preferred experience working in geriatrics and with people who have dementia
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team

Compensation and Benefits:


This position offers a competitive salary range of $37.31-$49.05 per hour, plus benefits including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
