Job Description

Bilingual Associate Investment Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to assist an Investment Counsellor in maintaining and growing existing client relationships and participating in initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and engagement. The Associate Investment Counsellor will be the primary point of contact for clients in French and English, handling all administrative matters related to their accounts.

Main Responsibilities
  • Perform various day-to-day administrative tasks, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional client service and team goals.
  • Liaise with custodians and other departments to resolve client matters, establishing a strong collaborative relationship.
  • Complete account opening documentation and manage the client onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition and positive first impression.
  • Coordinate meetings with clients and prepare presentation materials, including financial plans, in partnership with the Investment Counsellor.
  • Construct custom reporting and portfolio strategies for quarterly reviews or as required, demonstrating a client-centric approach.
  • Deliver client advice and recommend portfolio strategies, contributing to strategy initiatives under the supervision of the Investment Counsellor.
  • Respond to client inquiries, including instructions for contributions, withdrawals, or transfers, and provide general information about the firm and its services.
  • Maintain up-to-date client files, adhering to regulatory and compliance requirements.
Experience and Qualifications
  • University degree, preferably in Business or Economics.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred, but candidates with completed level II of the program will be considered.
  • Additional designations such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Trust of Estate Practitioner (TEP) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the investment industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of portfolio management experience, preferably with high-net-worth clients.
  • Superior client relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
  • Ability to communicate with clients about investment, economic, financial, and taxation issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ease in learning new IT tools.

The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.
