Job Summary

This Student Supervisor role is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic school environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess a strong understanding of student safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise students in the school and its buildings to ensure that rules are observed and that students are safe.
  • Make rounds, give warnings, observe, and report any abnormal situations to the designated personnel.
  • Greet and direct students and visitors, ensuring a smooth and orderly flow of people within the school.
  • Explain regulations to students and provide guidance on school policies.
  • May supervise students during exams, in detention, or isolation rooms, or in the classroom when the teacher is absent for a short period.
  • Supervise students during the arrival and departure of school buses as well as on the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Supervise students in the cafeteria, maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
  • May be required to assist students with eating, dressing, or getting around, promoting inclusivity and support.
  • In conjunction with teachers and student services staff, participate in carrying out and supervising student activities, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Maintain a safe environment, particularly in stopping fights and other acts of aggression, upholding school policies and procedures.
  • Assist the school administration in conducting locker or student searches, ensuring compliance with school protocols.
  • Notify the police and work collaboratively with them when necessary, demonstrating a commitment to student safety and security.
  • May be called upon to act as a witness in court, upholding the school's reputation and integrity.
  • Participate in preparing accident and theft reports, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Administer first aid, providing immediate care and attention when needed.
  • Locks and unlocks rooms and gates, maintaining access control and security.
  • Assign lockers and locks; ensure return of locks, promoting organization and responsibility among students.
  • View security camera feeds used for nighttime surveillance, monitoring the school's premises and reporting any abnormalities to administration.
  • Participate in monitoring absences, collecting absence lists, and entering data as requested, maintaining accurate records and communicating with parents when necessary.
Requirements
  • Meet one of the following profiles:
  • Hold a secondary school diploma.
  • Hold an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have one (1) year of pertinent experience in those areas requiring self-discipline, general concepts in psychology, and human relations skills.
  • Hold a certificate dated no more than three (3) years attesting to the successful completion of:
  • a standard first aid course of a minimum eight (8)-hour duration.
  • a refresher course of a minimum six(6)-hour duration updating the skills acquired in the course mentioned in subparagraph 1.
