About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual (A/V) Technical Support Specialist to join our team at the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating all technical related services throughout the CN Tower, including attractions, audio/visual equipment, and security systems. This role involves setting up A/V equipment for facility functions, press conferences, and operating built-in A/V systems and hookups. The A/V support specialist will analyze and resolve hardware and software problems associated with large A/V infrastructure and security systems.

This position requires regular inventory and operational testing of all equipment, including maintenance and repairs or A/V and security systems. The candidate will also assist the Supervisor, Technical Services with troubleshooting and various equipment repairs. Additionally, they will be responsible for installing and maintaining new A/V systems, such as networks and terminations, as well as assisting with the maintenance of other attraction-based technical systems throughout the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Set up A/V equipment for facility functions and press conferences
  • Operate built-in A/V systems and hookups
  • Analyze and resolve hardware and software problems associated with large A/V infrastructure and security systems
  • Perform regular inventory and operational testing of all equipment
  • Assist with troubleshooting and equipment repairs
  • Install and maintain new A/V systems
  • Assist with the maintenance of other attraction-based technical systems
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of three to five years of related A/V experience
  • Audio engineering experience is an asset
  • Video editing and encoding skills are an asset
  • Auditorium automation experience
  • CCTV system knowledge and experience are assets
  • Knowledge of electronic technologies, maintenance, and WHMIS is required
  • Experience and understanding of electronics, computers, technical, and mechanical skills
Working Conditions

You will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy workloads. You will require occasional handling of heavyweight objects and frequently be standing or walking. Ability to crawl, climb, enter confined spaces, and work at heights is necessary. You will be exposed to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. Flexible rotating shifts, which include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime, are required.
