Skilled Heavy Equipment Technician Wanted for Vancouver Island Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Hazelwood Construction Services Inc. on Vancouver Island. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment repair and maintenance, with experience in hydraulics and electrical systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy duty equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
- Repair and replace hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and other mechanical components
- Inspect equipment for proper performance and identify faults or malfunctions
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow
Requirements:
- Journeyperson's certificate or Red Seal certification
- 5-10 years' experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical systems
- Able to work well under pressure and maintain attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Compensation:
- $39.58 per hour
- Vacation pay: 13% of hourly wage
- Pension contributions: $4.80 per hour worked
