Job Overview:
Northern Health Authority is currently seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Therapeutic Technologist to join our Nuclear Medicine department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with established departmental policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing patients for examination
- Operating nuclear medicine equipment
- Monitoring patient during procedures
- Preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals
- Performing routine quality control tests on imaging equipment
- Monitoring area utilizing appropriate detection devices
- Disposing of radioactive substances and contaminated items by following established guidelines
Work Environment and Schedule:
This role requires a flexible schedule, including days from Monday to Friday, with shifts from 07:00 to 15:18 and 08:00 to 16:18. The new wage for this position is estimated to be between $36.69 and $45.81 per hour, as of April 2024.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A successful completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
- Current certification with CAMRT and eligible for membership with CAMRT and CAMRT-BC
