At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Instrumentation Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires expertise in the decontamination, reassembly, and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment, and surgical instrumentation.

We are looking for an individual who can work collaboratively in a team setting, with attention to detail and a commitment to following Universal Precautions to prevent Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). The ideal candidate will have experience working in a healthcare environment and a strong understanding of aseptic technique principles.

The salary for this position is approximately $63,000 per year, based on industry standards and average salaries in Alberta, Canada.

This role involves:

  • Ensuring instrumentation and equipment are in proper working order
  • Performing biological, chemical, and quality assurance testing
  • Reporting problems to the supervisor or designate

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program
  • A Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification
