Job Summary

The Senior Project Engineer will support construction activities by planning, organizing, and implementing project management duties, including project controls systems, engineering interface, subcontract and materials management, purchasing, and scheduling. This role will provide project administration or support for larger projects and manage technical and administrative staff to facilitate instruction management services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction or engineering, with experience in nuclear-related construction projects. They will be responsible for developing a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications, examining and inspecting field conditions, and identifying problems and cost-saving measures. The candidate will also be responsible for managing document control, reviewing new issue drawings and contract documents, and preparing monthly cost projections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications
  • Examine and inspect field conditions to identify problems and cost-saving measures
  • Manage document control and review new issue drawings and contract documents
  • Prepare monthly cost projections using information generated from project management systems
  • Improve project operations by recommending better methods, staffing, and procedural changes
  • Act as managing project engineer/coordinator on multiple projects, providing supervision and on-the-job training for lower-level engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience and education in project or field engineering
  • Professional Engineer designation strongly recommended
  • 7+ years of experience in construction or engineering, with a minimum of 2 years of experience working on nuclear-related construction projects
  • Infrastructure/Heavy Civil project experience is required
  • Proven abilities and skills in leadership and management of people, communication, planning, organization, delegation, teaching, and mentoring
