Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chief Investment Officer for our Active Equities team in North America. The ideal candidate will have a strong investment track record, with a focus on the Technology/Software sector.

About the Role
  • Lead the Active Equities North American Software portfolio and execute fundamental research to identify key investment debates and make security selection and position sizing decisions.
  • Manage a dedicated sector team with a focus on talent development and drive accountability for investment decisions.
  • Represent CPP Investments externally and communicate the organization's Active Equities strategies and objectives to industry experts and clients.

The salary range for this position is $200,000-$400,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Build and manage the Active Equities North American Software portfolio to achieve financial performance goals.
  2. Develop and execute a research plan to identify high-conviction, single-company investments and assemble them into a concentrated long/short, market-neutral portfolio.
  3. Oversee the recruitment, management, and development of junior fundamental researchers and build a dedicated sector team.
  4. Drive accountability for investment decisions and lead by example to foster a culture of inclusion.
  5. Represent CPP Investments externally and participate in department management and investment committee meetings.
