Leon Cycle, a global e-bike business, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to join our team in Toronto. As the leader of our HR department, you will be responsible for supporting our local BD Managers with recruitment, payroll administration, and employee relations.

Established in Germany in 2014, Leon Cycle has expanded its operations to over 10 countries across Europe, North America, and APAC. We offer a range of e-bike models, including mountain bikes, folding e-bikes, trekking e-bikes, and step-thru e-bikes, sold through our online website, e-commerce platforms, and retail stores worldwide.

About the Role

  • We are seeking a highly experienced Human Resources professional with 5-8 years of experience in retail, consumer goods, or sporting goods industries.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • You will be responsible for managing employee relations, payroll administration, benefits, and compensation packages, as well as providing support to our North American Headquarter and EU HQ.
  • A strong understanding of US labor laws, CHRL/CHRP certification, and previous experience working in a fast-paced startup environment are highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment: Assist BD Managers with hiring staff, sales, warehouse, technicians, and customer services teams.
  • Payroll Administration: Manage payroll, liaison with external agencies, and ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Employee Relations: Foster positive relationships between employees, manage disputes, and maintain open communication channels.
  • Benefits and Compensation: Research, design, and implement competitive benefits and compensation packages.
  • Reporting: Provide regular PPT and Excel reports to EU HQ on HR metrics, such as headcount costs, forecasting, and KPI performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or business-related field.
  • CHRL/CHRP certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in HR, recruitment, or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment is highly regarded.

Compensation Package:$110,000 - $130,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
