Position Overview

At Autodesk, we're seeking a talented Senior Applied Scientist to join our Applied ML team. As a machine learning expert, you'll be responsible for developing high-quality ML models and conducting statistical analysis to drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement machine learning pipelines to enhance decision-making and collaborate with cross-functional leaders for data-driven decisions.
  • Report to the Applied ML Manager, mentor junior team members, and help deliver key ML features.
  • Focus on understanding customer usage and promoting Autodesk products, influencing development and strategy.

Requirements

  • MS/PhD in a quantitative field: Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Statistics/Analytics, Computer Science, or other relevant fields.
  • 4+ years of industry experience and a passion for designing, analyzing, and deploying machine learning-based solutions.
  • Experience working with relational SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience working with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Hive).
  • Fluency with one or more programming languages: Python, Java, Scala, etc.
  • Experience with data science toolkits like: pandas, Jupyter, scikit, TensorFlow, etc.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning techniques, e.g., classification, clustering, regularization, optimization, dimension reduction, etc.
  • Experienced in writing high-quality, well-documented, scalable code, with a preference for Python proficiency.
  • Can clearly convey complex or technical concepts to a non-technical audience and presenting data effectively.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS).
  • Experience with Large Language Models (RAG, Generative AI) and NLP.
  • Experience with recommender systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You possess the initiative to take on big ideas, transforming them into insights through data mining.
  • You're familiar with MLOps and can optimize ML workflows.
  • You've led research that resulted in publications.
