We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Fantastic Transport Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our commercial transport trucks.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position offering 30-40 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with experience working on heavy equipment such as commercial transport trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and tests to identify faults and malfunctions, collaborating with supervisors to determine the best course of action.
  • Perform routine maintenance services, including scheduled maintenance and repairs, to ensure the continued safe operation of our vehicles.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications, verifying that all work meets industry standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years in a related field.
  • 1-6 months of experience working in a similar role, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
