Job Purpose:

The Engineering Project Manager will lead engineering efforts on major projects in mechatronics or Electric Vehicle Integration. This individual will be responsible for delivering solutions and controlling all engineering and prototyping aspects of the project, including schedule, quality, and costs.

This role will report into the Global Engineering Project Management Office (EPMO) within the Electrification team, which aims to provide centralized direction and enhance project execution management, organizational governance, and strategic change leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead design and development activities for electric motor and inverter projects.
  2. Create and manage program timelines by directing, coordinating, and communicating with functional groups, customers, suppliers, and vehicle line platform teams.
  3. Ensure projects are launched on-time and meet deliverables.
  4. Follow ASPICE process requirements and create and maintain required documentation.
  5. Manage issue and change tracking and coordinate with stakeholders.
  6. Coordinate and present project status updates to leadership.
  7. Coordinate DFMEA, DVP, and follow up with SDE/SQA for PPAP approvals.
  8. Direct the effort to define project charter, scope, and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  9. Apply multiple engineering project management methods and skills to tailor project execution.
  10. Create and manage R&D budgets related to development and estimate product cost ensuring target financial goals are achieved.
  11. Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain awareness of project scope and milestones.
  12. Drive project work to completion, using good judgment in determining when to escalate issues to management.
  13. Support purchasing with supplier identification, technical discussions, and timeline reviews.
  14. Identify and resolve issues/risks using established engineering and project management tools and techniques.
  15. Implement enhancements to project management procedures and processes at Dana through continuous improvement and lean efforts.
  16. Lead product development activities with adherence to Dana Product Development Process (PDP).
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in engineering and 5 years of progressive experience in the automotive field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in design and development of electrification products.
  3. Knowledge of the automotive electrification sector.
  4. Accomplished business leader with the ability to work successfully in a matrix environment.
  5. Strong understanding of complicated technical products.
  6. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  7. Effective listener and communicator.
  8. Proficient technical skills in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
  9. Excellent analytical skills.
  10. Demonstrated ability to be proactive and think forward.
  11. Able to effectively interface with other disciplines in the organization to achieve results.
  12. Demonstrated ability to drive results.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Master's Degree with 5+ years of progressive experience in mechatronics or electrification.
  2. Technical project management experience with successful completion of at least two medium to large projects.
  3. Title of Certified project management professional title or a project management degree.
