Job Summary

First Student Shared Services is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented School Bus Monitor to join our team. As a School Bus Monitor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students while in transit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational oversight and day-to-day management of bus routes
  • Assist drivers in safe operation of routes, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Communicate with school personnel, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and safe transportation experience
  • Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus and assist with loading and unloading students
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks on the bus
  • Assist drivers with directing the vehicle backwards when necessary

Requirements

  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage high degrees of stress
  • Early morning availability
  • Judgement/problem solving skills
