">About the Role
">This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients and families. You will be responsible for initiating treatment, prescribing medications, and collaborating with clients and other healthcare professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for client, family, and community health.
">Key Responsibilities
">- ">
- Initiate treatment, including healthcare management, therapeutic interventions, and medication prescription in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards, limits, and conditions, as well as employer policies and procedures.">
- Provide professional guidance to other healthcare professionals and participate autonomously as a member of interdisciplinary health teams.">
- Collaborate with clients and other healthcare professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for client, family, and community health; develop and implement population-based strategies to improve health outcomes and participate in policy-making and quality improvement activities that influence healthcare services and practices.">
- Participate in peer, program, and self-review to evaluate the outcome of services at the client, community, and population levels.">
- Be responsible for own professional development and maintaining competence in the position, as well as maintaining privileges as an active medical staff member as required.">
- Report to an Operational Director, Professional Practice, and have key accountabilities for quality assurance and patient safety within the Regional Department of Nurse Practitioners.">
Qualifications
">To be successful in this role, you will need:
">- ">
- A current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) plus 4 years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.">
- The ability to apply knowledge of developmental stages, behavioral sciences, pathophysiology, psychopathology, epidemiology, and evidence-based practice to clinical diagnosis and patient management.">
- The ability to apply knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics to prescribing and evaluating treatment responses.">
- The ability to communicate and collaborate with patients and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care, and prognosis.">
- The ability to collaborate, consult with, and formally refer clients and patients to physicians and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.">
- The ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices.">
- The ability to assess and recognize population health trends; plan and implement strategies for population-based prevention and health promotion.">
- The ability to define the specific areas of practice and client population for whom the position is competent to provide healthcare services.">

Salary Information
">The estimated salary range for this position is CAD $74,000 - $81,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
