Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic and Welder to join our team at Covanta. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including vibration testing, thermography, and ultrasonic testing, to identify and address potential issues.
  • Inspect and adjust mechanical equipment, including conveyors, compressors, boilers, pumps, and other rotating equipment, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Use various shop equipment to repair and rebuild equipment, including sootblower drives, gearboxes, speed reducers, and pumps.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, graphs, and measuring tools to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on heavy industry.
  • High school education and/or formal technical or apprentice training.
  • Licensed Industrial Millwright with provincial or inter-provincial trade certification.
  • Experience with rigging and lifting, computer skills, and basic welding skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
