Cement Industry Engineering Lead

About the Role
The Cement Industry Engineering Lead reports directly to the Holcim North America Head of Engineering and is responsible for overseeing large Capital (Capex) projects within the US and Canada region.
This critical role involves developing comprehensive project proposals that focus on feasibility and front-end engineering design. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical expertise in managing multi-disciplinary engineering aspects of a project, ensuring seamless collaboration with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring Health, Safety, and Environmental policies are integrated into all engineering project activities.
- Developing large capital projects by applying standard methods, tools, and procedures, guaranteeing holistic development to meet investment decision gates on time and without rework.
- Managing project budgets through feasibility study phases and delivering an executable project budget for realization.
- Leveraging expertise to lead multi-disciplinary engineering development with 3rd parties and ensure delivery of key documentation, including basic engineering documents, technical evaluations, and supplier selection.
- Organizing formal risk analysis sessions with Project Managers, Owners, and Steering Committees.
- Providing technical support to site teams during construction, commissioning, and start-up as required, and coordinating external subject matter experts when necessary.
- Participating in Steering Committees and contributing to the engineering aspects.
- Supporting a smooth transition to operation after project handover and preparing the AAR process.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Additional education preferred: Master's degree.
- Field of study preferred: mechanical or process engineering.
- Required work experience: proven engineering coordination experience in cement and/or similar heavy industries, with a minimum of 5 years in cement industrial engineering related fields.
- Desirable training/certifications: Project Management certificate (e.g., PMI).
- Able to travel +/-30-40% of the time, primarily within the USA and Canada.
