Regional Health and Safety Coordinator

Brock Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Regional Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Field Coordinator in the Grande Prairie Area.
Job Summary:This is a critical position that requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing Brock's Health and Safety programs, policies, and procedures across multiple site locations within the G.P region.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement the comprehensive corporate HSE management system, collecting and analyzing statistical data to identify trends and ensure accurate information.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work processes to identify and assess potential hazards or risks.
- Collaborate with regional managers and site supervisors to promote our Bsafe culture of safety, ensuring that all employees receive proper training and education on health and safety practices.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities and client stakeholders to ensure compliance and stay informed about changes in health and safety regulations.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Support the company's annual COR auditing process and client audits as required.
- Coordinate active WCB claims and monitor the modified work program.
- Provide guidance and support to regional teams in conducting risk assessments, developing project safety plans, and implementing appropriate control measures.
- Prepare and present reports on health and safety performance metrics, trends, and initiatives to senior management, highlighting areas for improvement and proposing strategies for risk mitigation.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops on various health and safety topics, ensuring that employees have a clear understanding of their responsibilities and the importance of maintaining a safe working environment.
- High school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
- Certification in Health and Safety, NCSO, CRSP or a safety designation is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in safety or a related field and 3 years in an industrial setting.
- Trade knowledge in scaffolding, insulation will be an asset.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), experience with SharePoint and extensive Internet search capabilities.
- CSTS, H2S Alive, and Standard First Aid.
- Proven experience as a health and safety professional, with a focus on managing the company safety program and initiatives in a multi-site or regional capacity.
- Strong knowledge of OH&S, and federal health and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify potential risks, assess their impact, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to foster a culture of safety and engage employees in proactive health and safety practices.
- Proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate and address potential health and safety issues before they arise.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to travel frequently within the G.P region and occasionally to other locations as needed (Company Vehicle will be provided).
This position will be in the field 75% of the time. 25% office-based and local to Grande Prairie Area.
