We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Vegetation Management Professional to join our team.


Job Summary


This role will be responsible for managing our vegetation management program from conception to completion, working closely with operations, project managers and contractors.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, experience working in regulated utility environments and knowledge of contract processes and contract management.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop, implement and manage projects and programs
  • Work within budgets and deadlines to deliver projects on time
  • Communicate project status and changes to stakeholders
  • Coordinate and assign resources to meet project objectives
  • Develop schedules, cost estimates and project execution plans
  • Manage permit requirements, site construction and stakeholder communications
  • Complete project closeout requirements

In the First Year



  • Aquire a solid understanding of FortisBC's internal processes and project management procedures
  • Put expertise and knowledge to work on projects
  • Champion and promote the importance of safety
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Schedule and organize resources

Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline plus 4-7 years' project management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation desired
  • Experience working in regulated utility environments, natural resource management or technical knowledge related to vegetation management
  • Knowledge of project management principles and methodology
  • Knowledge of contract processes and contract management
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and execute work on time and on budget
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate project requirements and details to various audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders internally and externally
