About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Mortgage Servicing Specialist to join our team at Accoravillage. As a key member of our commercial lending team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial loans to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain, review, and analyze financial information to ensure loan criteria is valid and up-to-date.
  • Thoroughly review and understand commercial lending, underwriting, and core documents.
  • Make sound decisions and recommendations on property insurance renewals, CMHC undertakings, holdbacks, and insurance claims.
  • Proactively manage assigned mortgage portfolios to ensure all required conditions for commercial mortgages are fulfilled to the satisfaction of investors and CMHC.
  • Thoroughly understand mortgage products and functions, including document management, payment processing, statements, holdbacks/reserves, insurance, and annual financial reviews.
  • Adhere to policy and procedures, service levels, and compliance.
  • Assess, review, and provide recommendations for mortgage-related approvals to senior management and investors on financial findings and/or client requests.
  • Effectively interface with borrowers, consultants, investors, and solicitors while adhering to service levels and policy standards.
  • Monitor ongoing progress draws/holdbacks.
  • Ensure mortgage security is valid and legally binding, and supporting documents are provided in a timely manner by solicitors.
  • Able to mentor and lead by example.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to maintain and handle high volumes.
  • Recommend and provide process improvements to build efficiencies.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by management.
  • Adhere to policies/procedures to ensure AML requirements are met, when applicable.
Requirements
  • Advanced MS Office skills with emphasis on Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, including confident and assertive telephone manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Strong analytical personality.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal & written, with experience in providing excellent customer service.
  • Team player with ability to perform extra duties as assigned.
  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Financial Services, Mortgages, preferably in commercial mortgages.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or related required.
