The ideal candidate for this role will have a post-secondary education or diploma in a health-related field with one to two years of job-related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in health, customer service, and administration. A background as Occupational Therapy Assistant or Rehabilitation Assistant is an asset.
This position requires strong communication skills, both written and oral, in English. The ability to prioritize and organize multiple issues simultaneously in a complex client-based environment is essential. Sound decision making abilities, combined with strong organizational skills, are also necessary.
You will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day delivery of the Health Equipment Loan Program including the Specialized Equipment Program and Transitional Care Unit pilot expansion. This involves working with the Occupational Therapist, liaising and building relationships with hospitals and long-term care facilities, and maintaining inventory records on equipment loans, returns, and statistics in accordance with program policies.
In addition, you will coordinate administrative functions such as ensuring financial transactions are completed and all information flow to the public is timely and accurate. You will also be required to complete a successful pre-employment screening process which includes a satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC).
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $21,090 to $26,363 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. If you are selected for this role, you will be required to have a valid driver's license to travel within Nova Scotia and a satisfactory driver's abstract.
