About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Intelligence Officer to join our team at Toronto Community Housing Corp. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will have the chance to make a real difference in our community.

As a Field Intelligence Officer, you will play a key role in receiving and assessing confidential intelligence information, facilitating the flow of information between TCHC, Community Safety Unit, and the Intelligence Services of the Toronto Police Service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for performing intelligence-related duties within the Community Safety Unit, unless otherwise directed by your supervisor.
  • Taking an active role in gathering and analyzing information to support crime prevention and investigation efforts.
  • Serving as a liaison between TCHC and the Intelligence Services to access resources and share information.
  • Reviewing arrest records and occurrence reports to identify potential intelligence value.
  • Confer with field officers to discuss relevant arrests or investigations.
  • Participating in operational intelligence probes to identify gaps in information.
  • Facilitating the flow of information between TCHC, Community Safety Unit, and the Intelligence Services.
  • Providing timely, accurate, and concise intelligence products to support crime management strategies.
  • Attending meetings and seminars to stay up-to-date on best practices in intelligence gathering and analysis.
  • Actively participating in crime management strategies and meetings.
  • Reporting regularly to supervisors and the Intelligence Services.

Requirements

  • A college diploma or university undergraduate degree in law, public administration, criminal justice, sociology, or a related field.
  • Special Constable Designation with at least 3-5 years of experience.
  • Previous experience as a 1st Class Police Constable.
  • Adherence to the core values of the Toronto Police Service.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the development and advancement of criminal intelligence operations.
  • Knowledge of criminal groups or individuals.
  • Cultural knowledge or sensitivity.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Training or knowledge in current social media applications.
  • Covert tactics and technology training.
  • Possession of full security clearance, including fingerprinting and background check.
  • A valid, non-probationary Province of Ontario class "G" driver's license.
