Role Summary:

The Vice President and Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the hospital's Senior Leadership Team, responsible for leading the hospital's corporate and financial services. Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the hospital's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
  2. Exercise broad administrative responsibilities to provide direction and coordination of corporate and financial services and assigned support/clinical support services.
  3. Assume responsibility for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls, which provides assurance that operations are effective and efficient, and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  4. Ensure corporate and financial services are aligned with and in support of BGH's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
  5. Ensure that quality assurance systems are in place across the corporation for the delivery of the highest standards of financial management and control; oversee the budgeting and audit processes and ensure that financial statements are prepared in accordance with all applicable standards and requirements.
  6. In partnership with others, assume responsibility for leading change through innovation and best practices.
  7. Initiate, develop, and maintain cooperative relationships with community and regional partners, applicable government ministries, Ontario Health East staff, and be responsible for closely monitoring compliance with provincial and federal financial regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

A degree in Commerce, Administration, or a related field (Masters of Business Administration preferred) and professional accounting designation (CPA) is complemented by 5 to 7 years of progressive senior management experience overseeing finance and administrative services in the Ontario hospital sector.
