Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join our team in a senior role. As an expert in estates and wills law, you will provide high-quality legal services to clients, guiding them through complex estate planning, trust administration, and will disputes.

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity for a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in estates litigation. You will work closely with clients to review and advise on estate plans, including trusts, wills, and powers of attorney. Your expertise will help resolve estate-related disputes through effective communication, negotiation, and representation in court.

Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on estate, trust, and probate matters, providing expert guidance on estate planning and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on estate and trust-related issues, staying up-to-date with changing laws and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, administrators, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and successful outcomes.
  • Draft and review pleadings, memoranda, and litigation documents, demonstrating exceptional writing and analytical skills.
  • Represent clients in court, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution processes, showcasing your expertise and professionalism.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB, licensed to practice in British Columbia, and in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
  • Extensive experience in estates litigation, with in-depth knowledge of trusts, probate, and wills.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities and deadlines with ease.
  • A portable book of business and over 10 years of experience in estates law.
