Temple Operations Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Temple Operations Supervisor to oversee the temple's clothing and linen services. This is a 9-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension to up to 12 months.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately and made available to worthy Church members by:
- Providing an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple.
- Maintaining and operating temples at standards established by the First Presidency.
Key Responsibilities:
Clothing and Linen ManagementThe Temple Operations Supervisor will be responsible for providing clean and well-cared-for temple clothing and other linen supplies for temple patrons, workers, and employees. This includes maintaining an adequate inventory of clothing and linens, as well as ensuring that rental clothing is in clean and serviceable condition.
To achieve this, the successful candidate will:
- Monitor stock levels and initiate requisitions for new supplies with adequate lead time.
- Ensure that linen/laundry operations stay within budget by correlating staffing requirements, purchases, use of cleaning materials and laundry supplies with the Temple Recorder.
- Perform other laundry-related tasks as necessary.
The Temple Operations Supervisor will also be responsible for managing a staff of workers, consisting of employees (approximately 3-15) and Church Service workers (approximately 5-50). This includes:
- Interviewing prospects and making recommendations to the Temple Recorder.
- Overseeing training of new workers through personal orientations, pairing new workers with experienced workers for detailed instruction, and monitoring the interaction of the pairs.
- Maintaining discipline and high morale among workers, as well as monitoring and evaluating their performance.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for:
- Scheduling and supervising workers to ensure prompt, cheerful service to all patrons desiring temple clothing.
- Maintaining a pleasing, orderly appearance in the patron's service area by monitoring its appearance and initiating any needed corrective action.
Requirements:
- Two years of relevant experience (supervisory, commercial laundry, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Experience in inventory control
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Basic financial background
- Ability to lift 30 pounds; bend, kneel, stoop, pull, push and perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced work environment
The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
