We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Clinical Research Assistant to join our team at the University of British Columbia's Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a multidisciplinary team focused on brain wellness research.

About the Role

The successful candidate will assist study team members in investigating, prioritizing, and conducting brain wellness research, including novel lifestyle interventions, implementation of established lifestyle interventions, and publication of research findings. They will also ensure patient confidentiality and safety, clinical data reliability and quality, and adhere to informed consent procedures and ethical guidelines for research involving human subjects.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit potential participants through various strategies, provide information and answer questions about research studies, and perform outreach into the community.
  • Schedule study visits, obtain informed consent from participants, and collect clinical and demographic information.
  • Perform clinical assessments and interviews with participants, review study visit documentation for completeness and accuracy, and enter data collected into the research database.
  • Assist in tracking participant remunerations and petty cash, complete financial requisitions as needed, write and maintain ethics research protocols, and submit research findings for publication.
  • Participate in group meetings, scientific seminars, and conferences, and perform literature reviews when required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a high school graduation, some additional training in a related field, and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, and prior experience in clinical and/or busy hospital environments would be advantageous.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, pension plan, and paid time off. Standard Level First Aid and CPR C certification is an asset.
