Our Occupational Therapy service provides consultation, assessment, and planned interventions for diverse client groups. As an Occupational Therapist at VHA, you will assess and provide consultation, recommendations, and interventions to pediatric clients in their homes and/or schools using evidence-based best practice. You will ensure coordinated delivery of care through ongoing communication with the client care team regarding plans and schedules for interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will implement occupational therapy interventions based on assessment information, client input, and integrated care plans.
  • You will ensure that services provided are best practice, evidence-based, and evaluated through routine use of valid and reliable outcome measures.
  • You will communicate effectively with the client care team to coordinate delivery of care and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • You will document all assessment findings, treatment plans, progress, and discharge summaries of interventions as required by the profession, referral source, and organization.
Requirements
  • You must have a degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized school of Occupational Therapy.
  • You must be a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • You must have a valid Driver's License with access to a vehicle.
  • You must be compassionate and empathetic, with excellent communication skills.
  • You must be self-driven and able to work independently, managing your caseload effectively.
  • You must be skilled in electronic documentation and able to provide virtual care.
