Structural Forensic Engineer

J.S. Held LLC is seeking a skilled Structural Forensic Engineer to enhance our team of professionals. As an expert witness, you will provide technical expertise in forensic investigations and play a crucial role in delivering high-quality results for our clients.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly experienced Structural Forensic Engineer with a strong background in forensic investigations, expert witness testimony, and damage assessments. Your expertise will be essential in conducting field observations, inspections, data collection, interviews, and document assessments. You will also prepare comprehensive forensic investigation reports detailing your findings and develop repair directives and drawings.
Responsibilities- Conducts field observations, inspections, data collection, interviews, and document assessments.
- Prepares comprehensive forensic investigation reports detailing findings and develops repair directives and drawings.
- Works with the forensic team and technicians to determine repair directives and develop repair drawings.
- Collaborates with senior engineers in document review, root cause analysis, and standard of care assessment in large construction projects.
- Conducts research and develops technical topics for publication and presentation.
- Engages in client-relations marketing and meets with and presents to peers and clients.
- Maintains high standards and ensures quality of deliverables and oversees.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- P.Eng license with good standing.
- 5-10 years of experience as a forensic engineer.
- Experience conducting damage assessments and forensic investigations.
- Experience in engineering design or construction.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible work environment, generous annual leave policy, comprehensive medical insurance, RRSP match up to 4%, and $10k per year.
