Your Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our interdisciplinary team at the Halvar Jonson Centre for Brain Injury. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and judgment to assess patient needs and provide high-quality patient care within your scope of practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and document patient needs, participating in the formulation of a nursing diagnosis and treatment care plan
  • Implement treatment plans and interventions, and assist with activities of daily living
  • Promote and maintain a professional work environment, attending in-services and clinical competency programs
  • Participate in quality management activities and perform other related duties as required

About the Role:

This is a physically demanding position that requires the LPN to assist with ADLs, including toileting, bathing, dressing, transferring, re-positioning, and escorting patients to and from programs. Complex moderate to severe brain injury patients may be very dependent on care needs.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong clinical background and experience with neurological patients or brain injury rehabilitation
