We are currently seeking an experienced Risk Management Expert to join our team in the Third Party Compliance Specialist role.

About the Job

This position is part of the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) program and reports to the TPRM Expertise Lead. The TPRM Program & Reporting role supports the design, adherence, and continuous improvement of Aviva Canada's TPRM program. The role ensures that the Aviva Canada TPRM program is aligned with regulatory expectations and business requirements. The role works closely with the 2nd Line Risk team to supervise, track, and report on compliance-related activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing the overall TPRM program, including identifying opportunities to enhance or optimize it in coordination with the TPRM Expertise Lead and 2nd Line Risk.
  • Updating and refining TPRM policies and standards in alignment with regulatory and business requirements.
  • Coordinating with Aviva Group and/or Aviva Canada functions on TPRM program design and effectiveness.
  • Assisting in regulatory monitoring and compliance tracking and reporting for Aviva Canada.
  • Synthesizing third-party regulatory changes and providing input on their application.
  • Collaborating with the TPRM Support/Coordinator role to ensure consistent and efficient application of Aviva's TPRM program.
  • Providing input on overall TPRM program effectiveness to leadership and risk committees as required.
  • Leading monitoring and tracking of TPRM program adherence, driving consistency in applying risk management principles across Aviva Canada business divisions and third-party types.
  • Defining and tracking relevant KRIs to advise on TPRM program effectiveness.
  • Leading data collection, analysis, and aggregation to provide an enterprise view of the TPRM program and compliance.
  • Designing, building, and implementing Third-Party Risk Management tools and dashboards.
  • Leading data collection, aggregation, and analysis for the enterprise third-party view.
  • Coordinating across various TPRM governance groups for the collection and consolidation of updates and data elements to be shared with leadership.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A diploma or degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Three to five years of relevant enterprise and/or operational risk management experience, preferably in the property/casualty insurance or related industry.
  • Risk management qualifications or equivalent.
  • A deep understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and frameworks, as well as third-party risk subject matter.
  • An understanding of core vendor management and procurement activities and principles.
  • Strong familiarity with OSFI Guideline B-10, B-13, and E-21.
  • An understanding of process design and driving operational excellence.
  • The ability to interpret, understand, and apply regulatory guidance.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills, including the ability to manage large and complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in data management and the ability to collect, prioritize, and extract insights from various sources.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy and integrity throughout the reporting process.
  • Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills to work effectively with key internal collaborators.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate risk-related information and insights to various team members.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • The ability to effectively manage risk-focused initiatives, including managing relationships with key supporting partners.
  • Experience working with vendor risk management software solutions, specifically with SAP Ariba Risk, Archer, and Logigate management platforms, would be considered an asset.

About the Benefits
