About the Role

BMO is seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Specialist to join our team. As a Mortgage Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping customers achieve their dream of homeownership by providing expert guidance and support throughout the mortgage application process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and Build Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with a network of referral sources, including realtors, lawyers, and other industry professionals, to generate new mortgage business and increase BMO's market share.
  • Identify Sales Opportunities: Proactively search for sales opportunities to achieve individual sales and profitability goals, and refer potential customers to BMO colleagues as appropriate.
  • Develop and Execute Marketing Programs: Create and implement effective marketing and sales programs to drive business results, including targeted marketing campaigns and promotions.
  • Provide Expert Guidance: Serve as a customer advocate, providing expert guidance and support throughout the mortgage application process, and ensuring that customers receive the best possible service.
  • Stay Up-to-Date on Industry Developments: Stay current on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and market conditions to ensure that BMO remains competitive and compliant.
Requirements
  • Experience: Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending, sales, or a related field.
  • Education: Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills, as well as expertise in mortgage lending, portfolio management, and related credit qualification standards.
