We are seeking a highly skilled Small Business Development Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank.

About the Role

As a Small Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of high-value and complex small business owner relationships to achieve retention and negotiated goals while meeting Scotiabank's Service Standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strong relationships with various Centres of Influence within the local business community.
  • Engage with new and existing clients to build ongoing relationships and provide comprehensive advice enabling them to build successful businesses.
  • Partner with fellow advisors to create a customer-centric environment.

What We're Looking For

  • A results-oriented attitude with sound knowledge of the small business market, including features and benefits of small business products and services.
  • Excellent business development techniques and understanding of small business legal structures and life cycles, competitor offerings, and alternate sources of financing.
  • Good organizational skills and flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
  • A strong relationship builder and communicator with proficiency in collaborating with others.
  • An education in a business-related discipline or equivalent work experience as a small business owner.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
