Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Software Engineer to join our team at CAE. As an Avionics Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and testing software applications for the CF-18 fighter jet.

About the Role

  • Design, develop, and test software applications for avionics systems on the CF-18 fighter jet.
  • Work closely with operational specialists, including CF-18 pilots, to ensure that software applications meet their needs.
  • Develop innovative solutions to optimize the operational effectiveness of the CF-18.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and features into existing software applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of engineering degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience in software development and testing.
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, or C#.
  • Knowledge of aeronautics and/or avionics systems is an asset.
  • Experience with embedded software development and real-time testing is an asset.
  • Ability to work on a team and interact with different multidisciplinary groups.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French (spoken and written).

Operational Requirements

  • Must be able to meet the requirements of the Canada Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR requirements.
  • Must be eligible for a Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
  • Main work location is not accessible via public transportation; a car is needed.

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Location: Mirabel and Saint-Laurent, Quebec, Canada
