Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy to transport goods and materials
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo

Requirements:

  • AZ class license
  • Experience with GPS and other navigation equipment
  • Long-haul transportation experience
  • Truck driving as an area of specialization
  • Criminal record check, driver's validity license check, and driving record check (abstract)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to handle heavy loads, work in a large workload environment, and sit for extended periods
  • Flexibility, organization, reliability, and teamwork skills

Work Environment: This is a permanent position with 40 hours of work per week. The work language is English or French, and the work term is permanent.
