Academica Group is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Chief Academic Officer for People and Culture.

Mt. Royal University, situated in an ancient and storied place within the hereditary lands of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Îethka Nakoda, Tsuut'ina, and Métis Nations, is a community committed to quality undergraduate education that puts students first.

Since its inception in 1910, Mt. Royal has grown into a renowned university and a beloved Calgary institution, welcoming some 15,000 students each year. Since becoming a university in 2009, we have gone from primarily delivering access and transfer programming to nearly 80% of students enrolled in bachelor's degrees.

About the Role

This leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing people and culture strategies that support the mission, values, and strategic goals of Academica Group. The ideal candidate will have extensive enterprise level strategic leadership experience for a broad portfolio including people and culture, human resources, and organizational development.

The role requires the ability to analyze processes, protocols, and policies with the objective of optimization and the creation of opportunities to address institutional challenges. A proven track record of professional advancement and accomplishment is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement people and culture strategies aligned with the organization's mission, values, and strategic goals;
  • Lead dedicated teams in delivering exceptional human resource services throughout the employee life cycle;
  • Foster a healthy and supportive environment that values learning and development;
  • Drive innovative employment strategies, policies, programs, and technologies in support of the organization's mission and values;
  • Cultivate partnerships and collaborations across the organization to advance people and culture initiatives;
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience implementing inclusive initiatives and a proven commitment to advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA), Indigenization and decolonization, and anti-racism;
  • Leadership experience within the post-secondary education sector is considered a strong asset;
  • Excellent skills and significant experience managing at both the strategic and operational level in a complex environment, servicing a diverse group;
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence and collaborate across a diversity of stakeholders within academia and administration;
What We Offer

A highly competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
