Machinist Manufacturing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machinist to join our client’s manufacturing team in Edmonton, AB. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for operating and setting up machines, maintaining quality and specifications, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance, collaborating for efficiency, recording and reporting, and assembling and inspecting valves.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will have proven experience as a CNC machinist or in a similar role, with strong understanding of technical drawings and blueprints. Proficiency in CNC programming languages (such as G-code) and CAD/CAM software is also essential. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required, along with experience in Valve repair and assembly.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up machines: Set up and adjust manual and CNC machines, including chucks, tools, and attachments.
- Maintain quality and specifications: Monitor machining processes (e.g., drilling, cutting, turning) to meet specifications, adjust controls, and replace or sharpen tools as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance: Keep machines and workstations clean and perform routine maintenance as per manufacturer guidelines.
- Collaborate for efficiency: Work with Industrial Engineering to implement best practices, manage tooling inventory, and maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Record and report: Complete work orders, log time using ERP, and follow health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Assemble and inspect valves: Assemble valves per specifications, inspect for consistency, and discard defective items.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages (such as G-code) and CAD/CAM software.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in Valve repair and assembly.
