Program Manager for Aircrew Training Systems

Calian Advanced Technologies is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Program Manager for Aircrew Training Systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader to oversee the transition of our Future Aircrew Training program from Contracted Flight Training Services and NATO Flying Training Centre to our own Future Aircrew Training Program.


The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in systems engineering framework implementation, Ground Based Training Systems implementation, Aircraft Training Systems acquisition, and Technical and Operational Airworthiness insights.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Systems Engineering Framework Implementation: Advise on the implementation of systems engineering frameworks to ensure efficient and effective program management.
  • Ground Based Training Systems Implementation: Assist in the implementation of Ground Based Training Systems to support the development of skilled aircrews.
  • Aircraft Training Systems Acquisition: Oversee the acquisition of Aircraft Training Systems to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
  • Technical and Operational Airworthiness Insights: Provide expert advice on technical and operational airworthiness matters to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

This role requires a high degree of autonomy, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing briefing materials, reports, and expert advice for senior management, supporting Treasury Board Submissions for legacy program extension.


Requirements:
  • Government of Canada Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Flight Simulators Acquisition, Military Aircraft Systems Engineering, and Briefing Senior Management within the past 15 years.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Sustainment, Airworthiness Activities, and Performance-Based Contracting within the past 15 years.
  • Subject matter expertise in the Canadian aerospace industry, with experience in developing, managing, or implementing sustainment elements.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, or overseeing Operational or Technical Airworthiness Clearance activities for military aircraft.
  • Experience in developing or managing aerospace performance-based contracts with an annual value of $100M or more.

Competitive salary: CAD 120,000 - CAD 180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
