About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Company 1 - The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing our company's data systems and architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement Python data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into our data warehouse.
  • Lead the development of data integration solutions, including API integrations and data feeds, while ensuring alignment to data governance policies and processes.
  • Collaborate with other data professionals, including data scientists, analysts, and business team members, to understand data requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest tools and technologies and see opportunities to enhance our data infrastructure.
  • Ensure that team members are meeting project timelines and delivering high-quality solutions that meet the needs of the business.

About You

  • You have 5+ years of experience in a similar role with expertise in building and operationalizing data platforms in cloud MS Azure.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or equivalent post-secondary degree.
  • You are proficient in automating data pipelines using PySpark, code versioning in GIT, DevOps, and CICD, as well as excellent programming skills in compiled and scripting languages.
  • You have strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and solutioning skills, with a capacity for constant learning and understanding of Agile scrum methodologies.
  • You understand change/release management processes.
  • You have experience in attending, debugging, and providing fixes to production incidents.
