Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team as a Seasonal Patrol Maintenance Technician - Infrastructure Management. This is a seasonal position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of safety awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on roadways, bridges, and other infrastructure as directed by the Patrol Supervisor.
  • Assist in the planning and organization of work activities, including arranging for equipment and materials.
  • Oversee work operations to ensure that they are being performed in accordance with recognized safety requirements and standards.
  • Provide leadership and training to junior staff members, including instructions on safety techniques and procedures.
  • Inspect work performed by contract staff to ensure that it meets standards and contractual agreements.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including completing records and reports, and assisting in the preparation of the weekly, monthly, and annual work plan.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma (Required)
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in construction, road maintenance, commercial/industry repair, maintenance or landscaping (outdoor work) (Preferred)
  • Valid Ontario Class "DZ" Driver's License and MTO Operator's Permit, and acceptable driving record.
Work Environment

The employee will be routinely exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, and will occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fume or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment will usually be moderate but on occasion can be more than moderate.

The employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the job.
