Job Title: Mobility Planner

Parsons Corporation is seeking a skilled Mobility Planner to join our Critical Infrastructure team. As a Mobility Planner, you will play a key role in supporting transportation projects in Eastern Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in transportation planning, with a focus on sustainable, efficient, and equitable transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct transportation designs, plans, and policy studies, including the evaluation of alternative planning and engineering solutions to integrated mobility challenges/opportunities;
  • Contribute to the completion of larger transportation projects of varying complexity, including corridor studies, environmental assessments, master plans, area studies, etc.;
  • Stay informed of emerging trends in transportation planning/engineering, including place-making, greening, accessibility, inclusion, and diversity;
  • Manage or coordinate the work of other disciplines and firms and work within a team environment;
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and proposals;
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, stakeholders, and the community;
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and municipal staff as required;
  • Prepare project planning schedules and budgets;
  • Contribute to business development activities, including networking and developing new client relationships.
Requirements:
  • 4-year degree in Urban/Regional Planning or Civil Engineering, with a master's degree and other studies and certifications appreciated;
  • Relevant work experience, with the individual's role in their project successes articulated;
  • Candidate should have a technical background in transportation planning, as well as a solid understanding of planning policy frameworks, best practice guidelines, planning and design techniques, evaluation methodologies, and performance measurement;
  • Registration as a Professional Planner or Professional Engineer, or evidence of pursuit of registration, is required.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written) is required. Bilingual English/French is not required but is considered a strong asset;
  • Knowledge of transportation planning themes, practices, and guidelines;
  • Creative, problem solver, and team player.
