Job Title: Kitchen Helper

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Grimsby Thai. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting our kitchen staff with various tasks, including food preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of kitchen equipment. If you are a team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for food service, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
  • Scour pots and pans.
  • Package take-out food.
  • Portion and wrap foods.
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars.
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
  • Handle and store cleaning products.
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
  • Sharpen kitchen knives.
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
