Job Summary:

The YMCA of Three Rivers is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment Liaison to join our team. As an Employment Liaison, you will play a critical role in providing employment services and technical training to newcomers wishing to pursue a career in the skilled trades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and select program participants for the skilled trades employment program
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the skilled trades
  • Connect program participants with local employers in the industry to secure work placements and job trials
  • Act as a liaison between participants and employers to ensure a seamless transition and learning experience in the workplace
  • Assess the needs of participants and develop personalized career action plans to support their employment goals
  • Market employment services and programs to clients and employers, and develop relationships with local businesses to promote the program
  • Provide employment consultation and support to participants, and assist with job search and placement
  • Ensure effective use of resources and provide statistical data as required
  • Ensure the quality of the Y experience for program participants

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (e.g. human resources, employment counseling, business administration)
  • Experience in job development, marketing, employment counseling, or a related field
  • Knowledge of the skilled trades industry in Ontario
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals, including immigrants, and employers in an employment setting
  • Regular access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license
