About the Job

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to work on various infrastructure projects in the Vancouver Area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, including excavators, backhoes, dozers, and loaders, to perform tasks such as bulk and detailed excavations, trenching, backfill, and servicing utility installations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with 20-30 ton size excavators. Primary experience on an excavator is required, but the ability to operate other heavy equipment is an asset. You will be expected to achieve maximum production while prioritizing crew safety and preventing incidents.

Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Work closely with field supervisors and crew members to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Perform daily pre-inspection machinery safety checks and service.
  • Attend and participate in safety meetings to promote a culture of safety within the team.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with 20-30 ton size excavators.
  • Primary experience on an excavator, but ability to operate backhoe, dozer, and/or loader an asset.
  • Achieve maximum production with full attention to crew safety and prevention of incidents.
  • Understand and complete daily equipment service requirements and inspection logs.
  • Participate in safe work planning and communicate effectively with the team.
Compensation

The estimated hourly rate for this position starts at $45.00 per hour, with opportunities for negotiation based on the candidate's experience.
