The University of Toronto Mississauga invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer position in English and Drama. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with recent credits in Canadian theatre, television, or film.

As a Sessional Lecturer, you will teach a concentrated study of writing for performance, focusing on a specific medium, genre, or theme. Topics may vary annually, allowing for diverse course offerings.

This role involves designing and teaching a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content, development of assignments, tests, and exams, and calculation and submission of grades. Holding regular office hours and supervising TAs are also essential duties.

We seek a professional playwright and/or screenwriter with expertise in writing for performance. You must demonstrate currency in subject matter and the ability to teach and/or mentor at the postsecondary level. A course proposal/outline should accompany your application material.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $18,915.79 to $21,140.03 per full course, depending on the lecturer's rank. Preference is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or III, as per the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
